Tīri izklaides pēc ielikšu savu saraksti ar expedia.com klientu atbalstu dienestu. Stāsts ir šāds: šogad janvārī norezervēju viesnīcu kādā lētā valstī uz 13 naktīm aprīlī, kopā par 195$. Saskaņā ar Expedia Rewards noteikumiem, par iztērētajiem dolāriem dod Rewards punktus, kā arī, var tikt pie Silver statusa par 7 naktīm vai iztērētiem 5000$, un Gold statusa par 15 naktīm vai iztērētiem 10000$. Kā redzams, ar šo rezervāciju jau būtu nopelnījis Silver statusu, un tikai divas naktis pietrūktu līdz Gold. 

Laiks iet, bet pēc palikšanas kontā nav ne punktu, ne arī 13 statusa nakšu. Tiesa gan, ir 195 statusa dolāri (no 5000) virzienā uz Silver (kam jau sen bija jābūt pēc nakšu skaita). Štrunts par punktiem, bet par tām naktīm un statusu drusku škrobe, pēc divām naktīm dabūtu Gold, un tur jau var cerēt, kā minimums, un papildus punktiem un arī kādiem īpašiem piedāvājumiem. 

Liriska atkāpe - tā kā vandos pa pasauli jau apmēram 20 gadus, Expedia vēsturiski ir mana pirmā OTA, ilgāku laiku izmantoju gan viesnīcām, gan lidojumiem. Kādu brīdi biju Elite Plus biedrs (tagad laikam saucas Gold). Ap 2000. gadu, škiet, booking vēl nebija, Airbnb pilnīgi noteikti ne. Tālāk sarakste (izlaižot nesvarīgas lietas, lai īsāk):

Me: I did not receive any rewards points for my reservation #xxx, and I also did not receive qualifying nights towards my 2020 status, why?

Expedia: …your account is a Blue Expedia account since May 2019 and the reservation was made on January 22 2019, therefore you didn't earn points at that time.

Me: I do not understand… I am an Expedia rewards member for 10+ years. What does it mean myAccount is Blue Expedia account from May 2019? What kind of account it was before that? Anyway, the money spent for this reservation was counted towards the status of 2020 progress, but the nights weren't. Why?

Expedia: Let us provide information regarding your account. We have checked that you are registered to Expedia Rewards program on May 31, 2019. In that case reservation booked before the registration date are not counted.

Me: I am an Expedia Rewards member for 10+ years, and even was an Expedia Elite plus member like 9 or 10 years ago. I have several trips in history (e.g. #yyy) that were fully or partly booked using Expedia Rewards points. And now, after so many years with Expedia and Expedia Rewards you tell me I registered in program on May 2019.

Expedia no response.

Me: (case escalated again). I haven't received any Expedia rewards points and hotel nights towards my 2020 status for this reservation. When I contacted support, I was told it is because I am rewards member only from May 2019, i.e. after the actual stay. No way this can be true, as I am Expedia member for more than 10 years, and have gotten and used points and status nights in the past many times.

Expedia: Based on our records, it shows that you booked last April 2017 and it resumes last November 2018 which means that your account is inactive within 18 month period and result to expiration. By the way, you will earn points again after 30 days of your trip.

Me: I still do not understand. You said, that my account was inactive for 18 months, and it was re-activated on November 2018, when I made a reservation # yyy. It means, that account definitely was active in January 2019, when I made a reservation #xxx. Stay was completed in April 2019. So, why there is no points nor status nights for this reservation?

Expedia: We have verified that your Expedia reward points on your booking at xxx Hotel on April 3, 2019 to April 16 are already credited to your account.

Me: When I log into my account, I see 0 available points, 0 pending points, and 0 hotel nights towards my 2020 progress. Based on data from your mentioned booking, it should be 407 Expedia Rewards points, and 13 hotel nights towards status, meaning, that I'd already had Silver status with only 2 nights short for Gold.

Expedia: Upon checking your account we are unable to locate any points at your loyalty Expedia rewards. Since you were enrolled last May 19, 2019 you were unable to gain points from your past bookings.

Me: Every time I get a response I get a different one. Could you, kindly, read this correspondence from the begging? I am an Expedia Rewards member for more than 10 years, and have never re-enrolled in May 2019. My account was active as of April 2019, because my previous hotel stay was in November 2018 (made as Expedia Rewards member by points +cash). I attached a screenshot that confirms earning of 407 points and 13 nights for my last booking.

Expedia: We have confirmed that the reason why your Expedia rewards membership has a zero pending and available points because it was inactive for 18 months does not booking any qualified reservation. Upon reviewing, it was re active since May 31, 2019.

Me: I had a reservation on November 2018, okay, before that my account was inactive for 18 months, so, I did not get points for that. But the following reservation was made in January 2019 for stay at April 2019 - how can my account be inactive at that time, if there was a preceding stay in November 2018?

Expedia: We have successfully processed the 390 points on your account with the itinerary number xxx.

Me: Thank you for (finally) processing the points (although the screenshot from reservation shows it should be 407 points and not 390), but I still have 0 nights towards my 2020 status, why?

Expedia: Thank you for contacting Expedia about inquiring your points. Allow us to provide the information you need. Our record shows that for you to be able to have a Silver Status, you must have to book seven more nights or spend USD 4,805 by December 31, 2019.

Me: I have spent 13 nights on itinerary #yyy. Why these are not counted towards status?

Expedia no response.

Šahs un mats laikam. Kāds man var paskaidrot, vai ir kaut kāda ārkārtīgi elementāra lieta, kas man nepielec, vai tomēr Expedia klientu serviss raksta atbildes, jautājumu nemaz nelasot?

Ir. Turklāt zvanīšana oficiāli bija vienīgais variants, lai skaidrotos par Rewards. Lai tiktu līdz sapportam, vajadzēja izvēlēties pareizās problēmas tādā kā anketā, un manai sāpei vienīgais variants bija zvanīšana - ko man baigi negribējās darīt, tāpēc drusku pamainīju tēmu, un tiku pie tādas, kurai ir divas opcijas - zvans un e-pasts. Vienkārši nepatīk zvanīt, un arī jautājums galu galā nav tik baigi svarīgs, jo pieļauju, ka tāpat vairs caur Expedia neko nerezervēšu, tomēr kārtībai jābūt, tāpēc arī uzrakstīju e-pastu (precīzāk, formu mājaslapā). 

Šis nav pirmais variants, kad Expedia atbild pilnīgi idiotiski, un tas nav vienīgais tāds serviss. Šķiet, ka 90% visu darbinieku visādiem ar ceļošanu saistīties servisiem uz e-pastiem atbild, tos nelasot. Lai gan, iespējams, ka dažos gadījumos atbildi ir rakstījis robots.

Te izskatās, ka katru reizi Tev atbild cita persona, kura iepriekšējo saraksti nemaz nav redzējusi, un lielākoties vadās tikai pēc pēdējā ziņojuma satura. Varbūt jāmēģina izklāstīt visu situāciju vienā ziņojumā.

Bet es taču katru reizi atbildu, spiežot reply, visa iepriekšējā sarakste ir redzama.

Domāju, ka par dažām rindiņām garāku tekstu neviens tāpat nelasīs. Bet pamēģināšu "eskalēt" situāciju vēlreiz, iekopējot šeit redzamo, varbūt izdodas viņus ieintriģēt izlasīt Smile.

Ļoti smieklīga sarakste. Bet loģika tik briesmīga, ka, manuprāt, Orsons21 ir devis ieguldījumu mākslīgā intelekta/mašīnmācīšanās testā. Pavirši ieguglējot kopā Expedia un AI, redzams, ka par plāniem izmantot to visu Expedia ziņoja jau 2016. gadā, un par šo tēmu ir arī paziņojumi presei 2018. un 2019. gadā.

Bet tad atkal ziņojums ir par garu, parasti klientu apkalpotāji izlasa pāris teikumus visā garajā stāstā un atbild uz tiem, ignorējot pārējo. Tāpēc cenšos būt maksimāli lakonisks, vislabāk noformulēt problēmu vienā teikumā.

varbūt tas ir kāds AI robots Grin

Pēdējā laikā gandrīz visas support sarakstes sākas ar botu, tiesa pēc dažiem galīgi greizām atbildēm, parasti tomēr ir iespēja pāriet uz human interaction, varbūt Expedia dara kaut ko citu un bots vsu laiku gatavo kaut kādus ieteiktos atbilžu variantus, savādāk grūti izskaidrot tik vienveidīgas atbildes.
