The DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine is looking for female and male subjects for the SANS bed rest study (Spaceflight-Associated Neuro-Ocular Syndrome Countermeasures study). We would like to develop possible countermeasures for visual disturbances and neurological changes after being in space.

We are looking for a total of 24 test persons (12 men and 12 women) for two campaigns (12 test persons per campaign).
Requirements:

• healthy men and women between the ages of 24 and 55
• Non-smokers
• Height : cm 153-190, BMI: 19-30 kg / m2
• good German language skills required! / ¡Buenos conocimientos del idioma alemán!
• Study location : Cologne
• Time required : 59 days inpatient (including 30 days in bed rest)
• estimated period:
  • Campaign 1: April 2021 to June 2021
  • Follow-up examinations: September 2021, December 2022
  • Campaign 2: September 2021 to November 2021
  • Follow-up examinations: February 2022, May 2023
• Expense allowance: 11,000 euros
  (for full participation: inpatient phase + 2 pre-examination appointments + 2 follow-up examinations). Participation in an online information event is also mandatory.
